During the C-19 pandemic, when the alarm sirens were being heard louder and louder every day, Andris Indāns played along with them and recorded the album "Sirēnu Sala" (Isle of Sirens). This album is a continuation of the augmented reality sound installation "Srēnu Sala", created in the territory of AB dam in Rīga in 2021. The installation is available at any time by using the specially designed mobile app. Everyone has the opportunity to choose their unique route of the composition by moving freely through the virtual sound clouds. The app "Isle Of Sirens" is available for free at AppStore and GooglePlay.
This album is a linear version of the sound installation reflecting the author's route among the sound clouds. In the less than an hour-long Odyssey, navigating between such themes as life and death, anxiety, acceptance and the motives of interacting with a changing reality, the album embodies the path of transformation into a new world.
The sound elements of Isle of Sirens were recorded in 2021, mainly with the Erica Synths modular synthesizer Black System III manufactured in Latvia. The album was mixed in 2022
